This drop-in is taking a break for the Summer
We’ll start again on Saturday 5th October
On the first Saturday of each month –
For newcomers and regular meditators alike
at the Quaker Centre on Friargate – 10.00am to 12.30pm
Join us on the first Saturday morning of each month for a lovely peaceful start to the day and a chance to learn about, and practise meditation with a friendly group of like-minded people. If you have never meditated before then we will show you how, and if you are a regular meditator then you are very welcome too! There will also be short talks on what meditation is (and what it isn’t!).
We’ll be exploring our two main meditation practices: The Mindfulness of Breathing in which we simply follow our breath and the Metta Bhavana or Cultivation of Loving Kindness practice in which we cultivate kindness to ourselves and other beings.
We’ll have a tea break half way (with biscuits!) so that there will be an opportunity to chat to other meditators and newcomers. Everyone over 18 is welcome.
There is no charge for the morning but we invite you to make a donation of whatever you can, to help pay for room hire
